Prism in Practice recording now available!

Aron Tendler, MD shares practical steps to power your practice
with Prism™.

Here is a summary of the key highlights from the GrayMatters Health webinar featuring Dr. Aaron Tendler and Kirk Thelander discussing how psychiatrists implement Prism in their clinics.

What is Prism?

Prism is a biomarker-based interventional psychiatry platform. It consists of a laptop with the Prism software and a patient monitor with a wireless EEG cap provided separately. Patients learn to develop personal mental strategies, for PTSD to lower the amygdala-based biomarker and for Depression to raise the reward system biomarker, and see the result in a responsive simulation.

Key Highlight: The Future of Psychiatry

Dr. Tendler emphasizes that Prism is the first objective, brain biomarker-based therapy in psychiatry. By offering a treatment driven by digital fMRI-Informed biomarkers, clinics that adopt Prism can position themselves as bringing leading technology to their patient community.

Clinical Efficacy and Outcomes

  • PTSD: Prism is FDA-cleared for treating PTSD, with studies showing a 67% reduction in symptoms on the CAPS scale.

  • Depression & Anhedonia: Pilot studies showed a 78% clinically meaningful response for depression and a 76.5% reduction in symptoms for patients with anhedonia.

  • Durability & Side Effects: Because patients are learning a skill, they often continue to improve even after the treatment concludes. Side effects reported are mild, transient fatigue or headaches.

Practice Integration and Workflow

  • Minimal Space Required: The equipment does not require a dedicated room; it just needs a quiet space, a desk, and a chair.

  • Staffing: A trained technician or other staff member can run the Prism patient sessions while the psychiatrist sees other patients.

  • Training & Support: GrayMatters provides a one and half-day on-site installation and training. Clinics also receive ongoing technical, clinical, and marketing support through the "Prism Pathway" program to help build their program.
